We are delighted to share that the UK China Cultural & Education Exchange Centre has successfully completed the 2025 UK Headteachers China Visit Programme, a comprehensive 10-day educational exchange initiative fully funded by our Centre.
This year, we had the honour of leading five secondary school headteachers from the UK on an immersive educational journey to Chengdu and Beijing. With the strong support of the Chengdu Municipal Education Bureau, our delegation visited 10 schools across Qingyang District, Shuangliu District, and Longquanyi District. During the visits, several friendly-school partnerships were formally established, laying a solid foundation for future student exchange programmes between China and the UK.
Throughout the programme, the UK headteachers gained meaningful insights into China’s contemporary education system, experienced daily school life, and engaged deeply with Chinese culture. In Chengdu, the delegation visited the Giant Panda Base and explored historic ancient towns. In Beijing, highlights included the Forbidden City, the Great Wall, and the Summer Palace, offering a rich cultural context to complement the educational exchanges.
The UK Headteachers China Visit Programme is our annual flagship initiative, traditionally held every November, and continues to serve as a bridge connecting educators from both countries.
We warmly welcome more UK school leaders and education professionals to join us in future programmes as we work together to strengthen cross-cultural understanding and foster long-term educational collaboration.
